Jamb Cut Off Mark For Universities And Polytechnics

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) have disclosed the cut off mark for 2019/2020 admission into tertiary institution. It’s about one month since the 2019 Jamb result was released and the cut off mark for all schools has been finally decided.

The minimum score for Universities, Polytechnics, College of education and all other tertiary institutions was announced at a press conference which was held earlier today.

The meeting which was held also includes the Vice Chancellors of Universities, Rectors of Polytechnics and Provosts of College of Education.

The cut off marks for tertiary institutions and the cut off marks for each universities and Polytechnics are listed later in this post.

Jamb cut off mark for all tertiary institutions are listed below

Public Universities – 160
Private Universities – 140
Public Polytechnics – 120
Private Polytechnics – 110
College of Education – 100

It was between 140 and 160 for Universities, 110 and 140 for Polytechnics and 100 and above for College of Educations.

Note – The above score listed above is for Jamb board. It’s a consensus between the institution and the stakeholders at the policy meeting. Some schools might decide to set their own cut off mark.

Universities like UI, Unilorin, Uniport might decide to increase their cut off marks due to high demand of applicant into the school.

However, it was made clear during the meeting that institutions cannot fix their cut off marks below the approved mark.

10. Nnamdi Azikwe University, Akwa (UNIZIK) – 160
11. Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State (FUOYE) – 160
12. Federal University, Lokoja, Kogi State (FULOKOJA) – 160
13. University of Jos (UNIJOS) – 160
14. University of Benin (UNIBEN) – 160
15. Federal University Dutsin-ma (FUTDutsinma) – 160
16. University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) – 160
17. University of Port-Harcourt (UNIPORT) – 160
18. University of Uyo (UNIUYO) – 160
